She is a 1969 graduate of Bertie Senior High School. At ECSU, she is a Social Science major concentra ting in Sociology. Congrat ulations Lemuel II Mr. Eley is a native of Gates, North Carolina. He graduated from Cen tral High School in 1969. Presently, he is a Sen ior at ECSU. During his stay here, he has parti cipated in many organ izations and has held very prominent offices which include: President of the Freshmen Class (1969), President of the Junior Class (1971), Superin tendent of the University Sunday School, Vice-Pre- sident of the Student Un ion, Treasurer of the P. W. Moore Chapter of SNCAE, Managing Editor of THE COMPASS, Pre sident of the Gamma Rho Chapter of Phi Beta Sig ma Fraternity, Inc., Pre sident of Delta Rho Chap ter of Alpha Phi Gamma Honorary Journalism Fraternity, State Presid ent of SNCAE andamem- ber of the SNCAE Min ority Caucus. Lemuel’s name is lis ted in Who’s Who Among Greek Fraternities and Sororities of America (1972), Who’s Who Am ong American Student Leaders (1971-72)and the National Student Register. His community activit ies include teaching high school dropouts, partici pating in the Voter Re gistration Drive, teach ing Sunday School and pic keting for equal employ ment. Mr. Eley feels that “Black people are going through a period of time in which they are being forced to wake up to the realities of the system in which they live and that the only way possible for Black people to change this country is through education and unity.
