Marching Band
Story Is Told

According to Elizabeth City
State University band
director Mr. Floyd L.
Robinson, there are 125
members in this year’s
Marching Viking Band. The
band is composed mainly of
freshmen, sophomores, and
juniors, with the exception of
a few seniors.
Because of insufficient
funds the band will not
participate in any major
performances besides
supporting the football team.
The band has and will play
many musical selections this
year. Among these selections
are “Reason”, “That’s the
Way of the World”, “Across
110th Street”, “E-man
Boogie”, “(3iocolate Chip”,
“That’s Love”, “Bad Luck”,
“Sneaking Up Behind You”,
“Memories”, and “The Way
We Were”.
The new uniforms this year
cost approximately $24,000.
Each unifornj cost $170.00
each.
Most importantly, the band
has won a great deal of
recognition. It has performed
with every professional
football team on the East
Coast, notably the Pittsburgh
Steelers, Washington
Redskins, New York Jets,
and the New Orleans Saints.
The ECSU band was asked by
the Philadelphia Eagles to
play‘in the Sugar Bowl and
also it was asked to play in
