October. 1976 THE COMPASS Page 5 Students Discuss Dorm Life New taidmtrial arts baUdiag begfaining (a take shape. New gymnasium to be ready for basketball season. Encouraged and motivated to seek admission to Elizabeth City State University, land of “The Vikings”, and not knowing fully well what the living conditions would be like, a number of students were sampled for their opinions on “Dormitory Life”. These are the surprising findings: —It’s alright. It’s a change, but it’s O.K. It is also too crowded. Charlie Smith Trenton, N. J. —Dormitory life is won derful and the people are very friendly. Darrell Brown —There are a lot of things that you will have to get use to. It’s not home but it’s O.K. and it’s something that we all have to deal with. Anthony Worley —I like living in a dor mitory. It gets too noisy at times though. Arthur Davenport —Dorm life is O.K. if you can get along with your rommates and the people next door. Mary Patterson Raleigh, N. C. —Dorm life is O.K. but it puts a limit on Co-Ed Visitation if we ever get it. Anonumous —First you have to realize that there are no maids and we all have to do for our selves. If you don’t do what is expected of you someone else will feel that they shouldn’t do it either. So far it has been alright. If only we could have Co-Ed Visitation. It would put more life into Bias Hall. Candace Brown Bronx, N. Y. —It takes getting use to really. If you get along with your roommate it’s O.K. Roney McNeill Trenton, N. J. —Having to wash your own clothes and ironing is not so cool. It’s even worse when you don’t have anyone to do it for you. Jimmy Butler —People play their music too loud and they don’t know how to respect others. Unknown —It’s alright for studying when it’s quiet and the music is not too loud. You can come in and out as you please. Mccarge Clark —It's too quiet for me. Some of the guys do not associate with others. They should get to know each other better. Terry Satterwhite —It’s really what you make it. It’ can be for the better or worse. Doris Mclarin —It’s nice that I have two good roommates but if I could live in a room alone, I’d rather. It’s really O.K. though, even though my roommates are kinda crazy. Artelia Covington Norlina, N. C. —I think dormitory life is fun. I enjoy it myself. Sometimes I even forget it’s a dormitory. Sometimes I think of it as an apartment building and my room is an apart ment. I really like it, but I would like it better if we had Co-Ed Vistiation. Robin Johnson Elm City, N. C. —It’s not so good when you have three to a room. The jrooms are cluttered and everything has to be divided into thirds. As for the social atmosphere, it’s really alright. Nanette Brown Bethel, N. C. H MISS ECSU Helen Elliot, Senior Early Childhood Education major. MISS COMPASS Carol Minor, Freshman Business Administration major.
