YOUR ASSISTANCE IS GREATLY appreciated. answers Literary Corner H)D * fS n I 311 I I't baan sending you to college for some six or (even years Since the day that you left me I's been shedding bitter tears. But I thought of that old saying, sunshine comes behind a storm So you march on off to college and next spring you bring it home. I's been sweating by the washtub, I's been working in the fields Sometines I had to borrow, and almost had to steal. But I held onto my patience, beat those soapsuds into foam Alt the while my heart was saying, he's going to bring that collage home. Folks round here say you're gonna be nothing, just wasting time away But I shakes my fist and telb them, just wait until some future day. So next spring when dogwoods blossom, and the bees begin to hum I'll be waiting for to see you, when you bring that college home. I don't mean bring home them buildings, nor disturb them good folks place You gat a Christian education and that high tone college grace. Grab them festas habits, hold them tight through wind and storm And when you gat your diploma, take them all and lita right home. Show them folks that you has got'em, by the speeches that you make By the specs that you're wearing, and the way your coattails shake. But don't gat above your people, settle down and cease to roam Be a light in your own village, be a college here at home. — Author Unknown !3meritan (Collegiate antbologp International Publications is sponsoring a National College ^oetrp Content Fill Concours 1981 open to all colieoe and unhrcrsicy students ctesirinQ to have their poetry antholo9ced.
