Welcome Yes, it‘s the “The Com pass” and we're back. Take the time to read the pages. You'll see many old and new faces and names. The staff is a creative group expressing new ideas for the future of “The Com pass.” In the past, the paper remained in the shadow of other school activities. We, the staff, plan to change this to represent the newer ideas of all the students. Our goal is to provide information, news, and en tertainment to the students, faculty, and administration. The topics discussed were social events, rules, and regulations^ From the discussion on new regulations, a debate about the room inspection system arose. The residents of the new complex oppose the mandate which grants the housingdirector authority to enter student rooms without occupant permission or knowledge. Students feel that this is an invasion of privacy. The rooms are built for one person in order to assure privacy. Charlenzo Belcher, SGA President, pointed out that the newly adopted riile isa rule and would have to be accepted by the student population. The discussion became quite heated, with each side offering opinions, but no conclusion could be reached.
