Dreams Do Come True
By Sally Morgan
Special Service Student
Frances Keeter is a petite
freshman with merry, dark eyes
and a ready smile. Frances
wanted to attend college after
graduation from Chowan High
School in 1945, where she ranked
third in her class. Her dream,
however, of becoming a teacher
was hindered by lack of finances.
Frances married and raised
two sons. She worked for the
telephone company for 33 years.
Over the years her dream of
teaching stayed with her, and
now she is training to reach her
goal by studying Early Childhood
Education at ECSU.
“/ will be very proud
to say that I am
a graduate of ECSU”
Sports, music and art are her
hobbies. Asked how she manages
all the housework and
homework, Frances replied,“It
is a matter of good scheduling.”
What does Frances think of
ECSU? She thinks the faculty,
staff and administrative per
sonnel are highly qualified and
dedicated to their jobs. She feels
they try to make the students feel
welcome and help each to work
up to his potential.
“I will be very proud to say
that I am a graduate of ECSU,”|
she said.
When she can say that - ECSU
will also be very proud of I
