Convocation honors academic performers

Academic accomplishments of
ECSU students were recognized at
the annual Honors Day Convoca
tion Program April 20 in Moore
Hall Auditorium. Students, faculty,
alumni and guests were on hand for
the presentation of awards and to
hear guest speaker, Virginia State
Senator Robert C. Scott.
"Today we celebrate success," said
Scott, a member of Virginia's
General Assembly since 1978.
Scott told the honorees they should
be proud of their accomplishments,
and added, "No one will ever be able
to take these honors away from
you."
Following Scott's address awards
were presented to students by Dr.
Anne Henderson, Chairperson of
the Honors Council and Dr. Carol
C. Jones, Director of the Honors
Program. Honors Program junior
Karen Blanchard assisted with the
presentation.
