A new major, the Music Industries Pro gram, offers students the chance to tern aU facets d the music business—inchid- ing how to n^ea record. In the summer oi 1991, ECSU com- pieted workona24-track,S360^,state- of-the-art recording studio for the majors in the program, according to Barry HiH, technical engineer for the stiidio. “The 24-track tape recorder b an in- dustiy standard," said HiTl. “I can record 24 separate musical parts, and the system allows me to record all parts of a song at difiierent tunes." The department also offers a corvcentration in Music Engineering and Technotogy and Musk Adjmiru- stration. *The Musk Industries Program is a grrat opportunity for the Universitv" since no other school in the University of North Carolina system offers this program.* Hill said.
