To be a first-team, all conference lineman in this league, you have to be a player." Hardison said being selected as an All- CIAA footplayer "is a very big honor for me. It is one of the main goals I set for myself during my four years of college football." Hardison said he was surprised to have been selected as a first-team player. Pendergrass had six interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns. He was a walk-on player his second year at ECSU. Pendergrass said that his outlook for the team next season is "we don't start out vdth trying to win the championship in our first game but take one game at a time, and the championship will be ours for the taking." Mdver made the all-CIAA team for a third straight year. It was the second consecutive year he was named its De fensive Player of the Year. ECSU Vikings also put three players on the second team, Wilson Bolden, Carl Hines and Gene Stovall.
