Senior credential packets are now
available for pick up. Seniors grad
uating in December 2000 and May
2001 should pick up their packets
in the office of Career Services
which is located in the H.L. Trigg

University Center

Poetry and Short Stories
Wanted
The Phoenix, ECSU’s literary maga
zine, is accepting poetry and short
stories. Students interested should
place submissions in the Phoenix
box located in the Language,
Literature and Communication
Department. Deadline for submis
sions is Nov. 17.
Jazz Cafe
Every month the University
Center will host the Jazz Cafe.
Students are invited to participate
in poetry night. Student’s poetry
will be recited in a quiet, intimate
and jazzy atmosphere.
Intramural
Weightlifting Clinic
There will be an intramural
weightlifting clinic in Williams
Hall Gym on November 3, 2000 at

The Dow Jones Newspaper Fund
Inc. (DJNF) is offering college
juniors, seniors and graduate stud
ents the opportunity to apply for
one of more than 120 editing
internships. The Newspaper
Editing Program, the On-Line
Editing Program and The Real-
Time Financial Newswires
Program are three of the programs
with available internship opportu
nities. The Newspaper Fund is
also offering minority college
sophomores and juniors the
opportunity to apply for one of 12
internships through its Business
Reporting Program. The

Morning Prayer
Morning prayer is offered every
Tuesday and Thursday morning
from 6:30am to 7:15am. Morning
prayer will be held in the New
Residence Hall and everyone is
welcomed.

TEST (CPP) and then apply to the
Teacher Education Program. For

ONR/NASA
Summer Interns
Eleven ECSU students were
awarded ONR/NASA scholarships
during the 1999-2000 academic
year and were placed in research
internships during the past year.
These students will share their
research findings with fellow stud
ents at an Internship Roundtable,
which will be held on November
9, 2000 at 2:00pm in room 116 in
Lester Hall. All ECSU students are
invited to attend.

Teaching Program
There will be an orientation meet
ing for students interested in the
model summer student teaching
program. The meeting will be held
