EXPENSIVE MCAT COURSES MAY BE OBSOLETE!
NEW YORK—(COLLEGIATE
PRESSWIRE) Last December, Audio
iOsmosis, a division of ExamKrackers
Inc. and published by Osote Publish
ing, introduced an innovative and
highly effective method for preparing
for the Medical College Admissions
Test.
ExamKrackers MCAT Audio
Osmosis with Jordan and Jon is all
audio. It provides truly comprehen
sive coverage on every concept
tested by the MCAT. Now, you may be
saying to yourself, “I’ve heard audio
products before, and their monotone
drone and superficial coverage of the
topics have me snoring inside of 10
minutes.” But, Audio Osmosis is
audio lecture with a twist. Jordan and
Jon create their own modern-day
Socratic method with a witty repartee
backed by amusing sound effects. As
stated by one Columbia University
student during last summer’s test
marketing, “Audio Osmosis sounds
more like two radio shock-jocks than
a physics lecture.” Rather than being
distracting, the humor appears to
imprint by association; students
actually listen more closely and
achieve greater recall. Keeping the
CDs interesting is important given
that 13 hours were required to cover
all the science and verbal tested by
the grueling MCAT exam. When it
comes to the depth and scope with
which each MCAT concept is exam
ined, Audio Osmosis rates an A+.
And for the more difficult topics, the
CD format offers hundreds of tracks
allowing for easy replay and repeti
tion of weak areas.
Perhaps the greatest advantages
to Audio Osmosis are Jordan and
Jon themselves. Jordan and Jon
(Jordan Zaretsky and Jonathan
Orsay) are fulltime MCAT instructors
with nearly twenty years of MCAT
experience between them. Jon, who
has authored seven top-selling MCAT
preparation books, wrote the manu
scripts for Audio Osmosis. Jordan
was the national director of an MCAT
program for another major company
before taking his expertise over to
Examkrackers. Together they offer a
sharp MCAT-science review that
rookie student instructors just can’t
match. As another test marketing
participant articulated, “These guys
know their (stuff).”
Adding to the appeal of Audio
Osmosis is its correlation with the
ExamKrackers Complete MCAT
Study Package authored by Jon of
“Jordan and Jon”. This five volume
set is taking the premed community
by storm and is on its way to becom
ing the best selling MCAT series in
the country. It includes nearly 1400
MCAT questions with 31 thirty-minute
topical exams precisely designed to
resemble a real MCAT. Unlike most
prep books, the science review in the
Complete MCAT Study Package isn’t
a watered down version of your
textbooks. Instead, the topics are
addressed from an MCAT perspec
tive with original insights into the
science concepts. If you’re the type of
person that will feel better following
along in a book. Audio Osmosis
follows these books chapter by chap
ter. By combining Audio Osmosis and
the Complete MCAT Study Package,
premeds finally have a truly top
quality, comprehensive MCAT Home-
study course at one fourth the cost of
student taught commercial courses.
You might say that the only thing
missing is an MCAT expert to answer
your questions, but you’d be mis
taken. When you purchase
ExamKrackers’ products, you can log
onto www.examkrackers.com and
have all your science and MCAT
questions answered personally by
Jordan or Jon via the internet bulletin
board.
The entire 13 hours of
ExamKrackers MCAT Audio Osmosis

Around 6:45pm students, faculty
and staff began to file in slowly as the
“Good, Bad and Ugly Part 11” began
to get underway in Jenkins Science
Center lecture hall on Wednesday,
January 23, 2002.
This student forum was a con
tinuation of the “Good, Bad and Ugly
Part I,” held by the Student Black
Awareness Council in Johnson Hall
on November 8, 2001. At the prior
forum, many students expressed a
number of concerns that affected if
not all but most of us in “Viking Coun
try.” These concerns ranged from
Housing to Financial Aid to Student
Activities and a host of other things in
between.
The purpose of Part II of the
forum was to inform the student body
of the actions taken by the adminis
tration and the progress that had
been made as a result. The first area
to be addressed was Housing/House
keeping. Dr. Anthony Brown, Assis
tant Vice-Chancellor of Student
Affairs, told the assembly present that
many of the housing units, excluding
the Complex (due to inclement
weather), had received new coats of
paint, shampooing of the carpets and
new furniture in the lobbies.
Dr. Jean Holt, Assistant Dean of
Student Life also brought good news.
Dr. Holt distributed calendars that
gave the listing of all the activities to
be held on campus. She highlighted
that there were activities scheduled
for every weekend with the exception
of two.
Third to come to the floor was Dr.
Gerald McCants, Special Assistant to
the Chancellor, along with Andre
Farley, the Director of Financial Aid.
Both gentlemen announced that the
entire Financial Aid staff had taken a
great deal of different measures to
better serve students more quickly
and efficiently. Mr. Farley also stated
that the department had attended a
number of workshops that focused
primarily on interaction between staff
and students. Farley went on to say
that a session of workshops would be
held throughout the year to assist
students with their FAFSA forms. , .
Mrs. Marsha McLean, Directorof
University Relations and Marketing,
was the last to speak at the forum.
Mrs. McLean made those in atten- .
dance aware of the steps being taken
by University Relations to keep stu-.
dents, as well as the rest of the , -.
University, better informed of events,
occurring on campus. She mentioned
that the way this was being done at
present was chiefly through the ^ .■
ECSU e-mail account system. If any/
students have any problems loggirig
into the system she ask that you ,
