Lavonda Whitt Women of this new generation are pressing toward careers and goals that were once unheard of. In many cases, this may seem intimidat ing, stressful, and challenging. However, this should never drive us down the path of discouragement but lead us in the direction of encour agement, motivating us to reach success and prepare the way for other rising women. Although we often hear that women are not as strong as men or a woman’s place is in the home, we must understand that women of the 21 century have made substantial progress and fought for equality to obtain competitive names for themselves. We no longer have to trail behind men, but can walk hand and hand with them. So fellas please don’t be de- ceived! Beside every strong, intelli- gent, and successful man lies a strong, independent, and successful woman. Beside every Denzel Wash ington, there’s a Halle Berry; beside every Kobe Bryant lies a Lisa Leslie. Although our fight may have been a bit tougher and may even continue in the work force, women such as Oprah Winfrey, Condoleezza Rice, and Mablean Ephriam have made it quite evident that we haven’t labored in vain. So ladies when your journey becomes trying and you find yourself focusing on the road of discourage ment stop and take a glance back down the trying roads of Maya J Angelou and Sandra Day O’Connor | and reassure yourself that the fight is' worth it and the reward is sure to i come. Women have come to far to throw in the towel and stop climbing the ladder of success. A VIRTUOUS WOMAN Lavonda Whitt A virtuous woman is one who has it “together.” Seeking God first with all priorities and ambitions set. She is god-fearing, wise, and ready for action! She is truly on a mission, armed, and ready for battle! She is empowered to speak to mountains and at the sound of her voice de mons tremble. Her trust lies in God and she takes great pleasure in serving the Father. She holds an inner peace that surpasses all under standing. She constantly fills up her spirit with God’s mercy and grace, and she lives by faith, the only way to please God. A virtuous woman is one who learns and takes heed to life’s valuable experiences. Although she may fall down seven times, she rises again. She is steadfast and can not be moved! She owns her own million- dollar business yet still manages an orderly home. A virtuous woman is bad! You will never find a virtuous woman chasing after a man. She is content as a single, preparing herself for her Godly Prince. Her Maker is her husband, knowing just what buttons to push and just how to please her. She saves herself and looks forward to offering her husband something that no other has had. As a single, a virtuous woman does things to please her Father She is a strong believer that in delighting herself in God, he will give you the desires of your heart, which means that you shall be whole and lack no good thing. A virtuous woman is awesome! A virtuous woman knows who she is in Christ and takes what little she knows in faith and runs with it. Her motto is “I may not live in a mansion, but I have a place to stay, and I may not be a movie star, but all thanks be to God Almighty I am here.” A virtuous woman is grateful!
