Sharron By Bob McConnell A Winston-Salem State University business education student has won the National Business Education Associa tion Award of Merit for Outstanding Achievement in Business Education. Josephine Vanessa Jiles of 320 Forest Hill Avenue in Winston-Salem will receive the honor at the annual WSSU Awards Day Program to be held May 7, 1980, at 10 a.m. in the Kenneth R. Williams Auditorium. The award consists of an at tractive certificate, a year’s professional membership in the National Business Educa tion Association, a one-year subscription to “Business Education Forum” (a national Potter will hold the position of Director of Secretarial Affairs and Robert Brower, Jr. will have the responsibility of be ing Director of Financial Af fairs. Vicki Powell defeated op ponents Santhony Cash and Wallace R. Hatcher for the position of Secretary of Day Student Affairs. Ladies seek ing the title of Miss Winston- Salem State University were: Lauretta Battle, Angela Foster, Cynthia Haddock, Sherry Hawkins, LaTanya Moore, Clara Williamson, and Sheila Woodard. Lauretta Battle was the winner of the ti tle, Miss WSSU. None of the winners could be reached for comment. Seniors Plan Week By Kathy Wiley During the close of each school year, each class spon sors a week of activities to pro perly climax the old year and bring in the new. One such celebration, designated by some as the “week of all weeks,” is Senior Week. The activities that are scheduled during this time are designed to enable the seniors to have one last “Ram” family reu nion before graduation. The 1980 Senior Week will begin Monday, May 12. The Commencement exercises, on May 18, will conclude the week of events. On Monday, May 12, a senior disco will be held from 9:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m., at A Touch of Class Club located at 738 E. 28th Street. Refreshments will be served. On Tuesday, May 13, seniors will spend from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Tanglewood Park. A luch will be served at 12 noon. Transportation will be provid ed from the Student Union in the morning, at 10:00 and 11:30, and in the afternoon at 1:30. The Class Day Program is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14. The events will be held in Kenneth R. Williams Auditorium at 10:00 a.m. A Wine and Cheese Taste will also be held on Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 at Les Arbes (The Tree). Refreshments, wine, cheese, and non-alcoholic punch will be served.
