The News Argus, March, 1981, Page 7 SGA Elections Set For April Student Government Association elections will be held the first Tuesday in April. Campaigning will begin one week prior to elections. Seven positions will have to be filled. They are as follows: president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, secretary of social affairs, secretary of judicial affairs, and secretary of day student affairs. Applications for candidates will be ac cepted during the month of March. Specific dates have not yet been designated. Miss Winston-Salem State Universi ty will also be elected during this time. However, she is not being elected an S.G.A. officer. The constitution of the Student Government Association requires that candidates have a 2.0 cumulative average. Candidates must also be a full-time student of Winston-Salem State University for at least two semesters prior to the election. Information about the requirements for being a candidate for Miss Winston-Salem State are not yet available. University Makes Plans For Parents Day From Page 1 Students will receive departmental and class honors. Including basic re quirements, those receiving depart mental honors will have completed at least 60 semester hours at the universi ty, including 18 hours in their major fields. Freshmen considered for class honors have been enrolled at Winston- Salem State University no more that one semester with a minimum of 15 semester hours earned. Other honorees must have been enrolled at the univer sity for at least one academic year. Sophomore honorees must have earned at least 45 semester hours, junior honorees at least 75 hours, and senior honorees must have earned at least 105 semester hours. Lists of honorees will be posted in the student union and campus library March 9-11. Any student whose name is missing from this list who feels that it should be included, should immediate ly express his or her concerns at the registrars office. Mrs. Maurice Johnson, director of the Enrichment Center, chairman for this event, commented, “All students should try to attend. They can be an in spiration to students who didn’t make it, and can show respect and admira tion to friends who made it.” Parents’ Day will be an all day affair beginning with registration for parents Qvt To at 8:00 a.m. Meetings of parents with teachers will be from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Lunch will be served to parents from 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in Kennedy Din ing Hall. At 2:00 p.m., special Honors Students will be recognized in a pro gram at the K.R. Williams Auditorium. The speaker has not been Officially chosen as of yet. Academic buildings will be open for morning visitation.
