WSNC Masquerade Ball a Monstrous Affair

Ghosts and Goblins were out a little ear
ly this Halloween.
The WSNC-FM First Annual Mas
querade Ball was held on Oct. 22, at Illu
sion. All the WSSU ghouls showed their
gruesome faces. Among other fiends that
attended the ghoulish affair were: the In
visible Man, Count Dracula, and who else
besides the Devil, himself.
Cinnamon Raggae Band played at the
ball, which was held from 1 until 5 a.m. Hot
dogs were sold, and by 4:30, everyone was
having such a good time, that hot dogs
were being given away.
Not only were there goblins out, but also
New-wavers, the unknown comic, Darth
Vader and many more of the characters
that we know and love.
Around 3 a.m., a masquerade contest
was held. The judges were Dr. Eady, Dr.
Holman and Mr. Thomas.
Everyone in costume entered the con
test. It was a hard decision for the judges,
and they were under extreme pressure.
From Darth-Vader and the Invisible Man
lurking over them, to the famous Unknown
Comic shouting for his undue recognition.
Despite the pressure and harassment, the
judges made their decision.
The winning couple was Mr. and Mrs.
Dracula, and the single winner was none
other than the Magical Genie.
Toni Evans, WSNC-FM, traffic
manager, spoke highly of the ball. “The
First Annual Masquerade Ball was a suc
cess,” she said. “We intend to have this
ball every year, and next year, I think the
ball will have even more student participa
tion.”
