This years tennis team will prove to be
one of rebuilding. The team is under the
direction of eight year head coach, A1
Roseboro.
Due to academic ineligibility, the team
will be losing from three to five players. Ac
cording to the second year captain, James
Roach, poor recruiting is a contributing fac
tor to the Rams losing record last year.
Roach, a junior Business Administration
major is from Rockland Mass.
“Another factor is that WSSU’s Athletic
Department isn't willing to pay the tuition
for the tennis players. Most of the players
must pay their own tuition including
myself,” explained Roach.

and is a native of Durham N.C. He will be
rated number 2 or 3 on the team this year.

ches this season. Their first match will be
on March 1st.
Johnson C. Smith University won the
Southern Division Championship last
season and are favored again this year. Liv
ingstone is also picked to finish high
