Craig Johnson Receives Business Industry Award by Alisa Wilson “Have a strong mind, strong com mitments, and high goals and you can do anything.” This is the attitude of a WSSU senior who has been the recipient of several honors this year. Craig Johnson, who is better known as “Tibbs,” has apparently made his own ad vice a stepping stone. Johnson, a 20-year old-junior, majoring in English, is from Jamaica New York. He recently received the prestigious Business/Industry Cluster Award. He received it because of his active participa tion in the community and many services rendered to the university. Johnson, who also received class honores at the recent Honors Day Program said “I feel honored and privileged to be elected because it gives me a standard to main tain.” Two sources which he feels have motivated him are his parents and Jesus Christ. These motivations along with a few others are what have shaped “Tibbs” into a high achiever, Johnson also said that he has alwas been outspoken and his point of view has always been respected by his peers. Among the honor just mentioned, Craig has also received a departmental scholar ship; he has been on the Dean’s List since his freshman year; has been selected as an oustanding member of his class for two years and was selected as Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. After receiving his degree in English, he plans to attend law school at St. Johns in New York. This is definitely someone we will need to keep our eye on in the future. CIA Bound by Darrell Womble When you hear the term CIA what comes to your mind? Mystery, intrigue, es pionage? Well, a member of the Mighty Ram Fami ly will be working for the CIA. Page 3 Tony Herring, a junior and a football player, from Faison, N.C. got this job through the Co-op program here at WSSU. He is currently expecting a call from the CIA to find out when he starts and exactly what he will be doing. He is pretty sure it will deal with com puters since he is a Computer Science ma jor. Herring is anxious to start work before hitting, the football field where he plays Defensive tackle. With that attitude Herring should be suc cessful in his summer job. y PARKWAY FORD Has a special gift far upcoming graduates HlE-AraiOVED CREIXrFRCM FORDCRENT.
