Students Unite
Against Apartheid
by Dr. D. Mac-Thompson
Action now! “Let’s get involved” is the
motto of the newly formed Students United
Against Apartheid here at WSSU.
Students involved in the organization
endeavor:
(1) to sensitize the Winston-
Salem/American Public of the issues per
taining to minority rule in South Africa;
(2) to stand as a voice against apartheid
in South Africa and racial discrimination in
thi? country;
(3) to contribute however possible to br
inging about reform in South Africa and to
increase, through various channels, minori
ty rights in the U.S.;
(4) to raise political consciousness within
the Winston-Salem community;
(5) to establish communication with other
groups, organizations, and institutions of
similar interests;
(6) to engage in various projects to sup
port the anti-apartheid movement.
The student’s approach will be Dr. Martin
Luther King’s non-violent direct action. The
students involved in the organization are
sincere and enthusiastic, but feel they need
the support of the entire WSSU family in
taking their stand against apartheid in
South Africa and all injustices around the
world.

be undertaken are encouraged to contact
