They did agree on one thing, the game would have a different outcome from last year, James Johnson a senior RB from Charlotte, N.C. said “I feel confident, because we have a good team." “If we can keep everyone healthy we will have a winn ing season.” Johnson said that the team would have to rely on the starters and the upperclassmen and use the freshmen for depth. Johnson added, “what happened last year with A & T should not have happened and that the outcome will be different.” F'reshman team member Dewayne Johnson DB from Tucson, Arizona. “I am enjoying playing with the Rams. D. Franks feels that the Rams has a very good defense and offense, “I think we wil come out on top,” he replied. Anthony Blaylock senior DB from Raleigh, N.C. said that the Rams moved the ball good in the scrimmage game against Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C. Baylock stated, “the team should concen trate on Bowie first. He also feels very con fident about the freshmen players whom Blaylock said could step up at anytime and play. When Coach Bill Hayes was asked about the A & T game he simply replied “non-conference.” Do not be mistaken Coach Hayes does want to win the Ram/Ag gie game, he added that we must worry about our conference games with Fayet teville and Central. Hayes stated that A & T is a good ball squad and he wants to give them a good game. Hayes went on to say that he only recruited 16 freshman players and that six or seven of them could contribute this year. Hayes said that the Rams have lost 14 players from the team and at the moment there are 74 players including the freshman players. He also staled that the team as a whole looks good. We will be very competitive if the team stays healthy." said Hayes. FIHIT mi VL SCHEDULE. WSSU Announces 1987 Football Schedule Two NCAA Division lAA teams lop the 10-game football schedule for Winston- Salem Stale University’s 1987 campaign. Arch rival North Carolina A&T State University and Middle Tennessee State University reached the NCAA ISAA play offs in 1986 and return the scorers from those squads.
