Page 6 \ Sergio Tatoba Photo By Chavis Just Another Face In The Crowd By Chris Colley Sergio Tatoba is just another face in the crowd, however with an interesting story. Sergio is originally from Brazil, Rio de Janiero and has been in Winston-Salem for one year. Sergio likes Winston-Salem but also finds it a little different. According to Sergio, the biggest difference lies in the uni ty of the family. In Brazil there is much respect for the family, including grand mother and grandfather. However, in the United States there seems to be a lack of respect for the elders. (There is much distance between the family unit. It is not surprising the thing he misses most is his family. Sergio is attending WSSU to make up for some of the other credit hours that did not transfer. He has his college degree in Physical Education. Sergio is a man who enjoys learning, he speaks 4 different languages. English, Portugese, Spanish, French. When he is not studying he is usually at the gym working out. From age 10, Sergio has been involved in gymnastics. He loves working out on the high bar. Sergio has competed worldwide with the na tional team of Brazil, and has done very well. Sergio later became a gymnastics coach. He has worked with many athletes, his most recent is Leuiza Ribeiro. This young gymnast has benefited greatly from the knowledge Sergio has offered. Ribeiro was in the Pan American games last year and received a bronze. You can look for him in the Olympic games one year from now. There is something to be said for a good coach! Sergio has many future goals that ob viously include his gymnastics equipment for training much better than other places he has coached. Sergio has a terrific per sonality and a great sense of humor, he is most sure to go far. We wish you the best of luck!! m Welcome Back Sorors!
