People of all denominations are welcome to join this fellowship organi zation. Mother and Father Hammonds founded the Youth Fellowship in 1971. Now run by the students, the group is advised by the university chaplain, Rev. Cedric Rodney. The officers for this year are as follows: president, Jen nifer McLamb, vice president, Steve Williamson (Mr. Ram), secretary, Sheri Bratcher, assistant secretary, Lisa Best, and treasurer, Kevin Jackson. The clergymen who frequently attend are Rev. Rodney, Elder Freddie Rountree, Elder Freddie Marshall, Evangelist Angela Collins and Rev. Serenus Chum. When the members present were asked what being saved was like and how it affects their lives differently than before, Jennifer McLamb said that she is now respected more by her peers than before. She also stated that though it doesn't make her uncomfort able, she feels as if she's looked at more often. With nods of agreement. Starling Chum added that his life is now more "Part of spiritual growth is to be with those who'll help you grow." complete than before, and Kevin Jack son stated that it has insured him of never again being lonely. Kevin knows now that he has a friend for life here and after, he said. Wimessing, the next topic of dis cussion, seemed to grab the attention of Kevin Ross. Kevin explained that wit nessing is just living the life that Jesus lived. Tammy Shipp added that the only way to really explain is to demon strate, which is why she is a member of the fellowship. Kevin Ross, Tammy Shipp, Kevin Jackson, Starling Chum and Jennifer McLamb all have a common bond, the belief in Jesus Christ, they said. They are all in agreement that in order to grow, one must have a solid foundation - the Lord, and the Bible. Kevin Ross, a junior majoring in Mass Communications said, "I am a part of the fellowship because I need to be with common believers, and I want to grow in Christ." Tammy Shipp, a sophomore, majoring in Business Administration said, "Part of spiritual growth is to be with those who'll help you grow." In order to set a good example for others on campus, and strongly represent the Fellowship group at the same time, Kevin Jackson, a Junior Intermediate Education major said, "Live as Christ said to live in the Bible." Jennifer McLamb, a junior Sociology major, said, "Be an example and let your light shine so men may see your good works." The Interdenominational Youth For Christ Fellowship meets every Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium in the Green room on the campus of Winston-Salem State Uni versity.
