His punishment for the crime was 20 years in prison; however, he received a reprieve when the Florida State Court ordered a retrial on the grounds that important evidence of entrapment was not allowed to be presented. He was released from prison on June 12,1986. “Success is not always a good teacher,” he pointed out, speaking on the wealth and fame hegeneratedfromhisprofessional career.
