by one of Grover’s favorite mu
sical teams: Donald Fagen and
Walter Becker, known collec
tively as Steely Dan. It receives
an innovative interpretation, by
utilizing background vocals ar
ranged by keyboardist Bill Jolly,
and Grover’s own voicings on
one alto and two tenor saxo
phones.
Grover’s awareness of the
evolutionary process, and his
continued evaluation and explo
rations in new directions to en
sure future proliferation, extends
beyond musical boundaries. It
was with this concem in mind
,Grover composed “Protect the
Dream.” The song (which ap
pears on CD and cassette only)
is dedicated to the 1990 Inter-

(U.S.), Dr. Jean-Louis Etienne
(France), Geoff Somers (Great
Britain), Qin Dahe (China), Dr.
Victor Boyarsky (USSR), and

Washington became cogni
zant of the expedition to the
North Pole from being a spokes
person for Gore-Tex Outerwear.
