No Peace
We live in a world of many problems, and there are
many who feel that they have the solution to man’s
problems. Leaders of all sort organize marches and protests
with the hope of bringing about change, but these leaders,
and their followers fail to realize that change will not give
them peace.
Has man forgotten who is in charge? Does he not
know that his works are in vain if God is not the head.
Many of today’s leaders have brought about change, but
still the one thing they lack is peace (Jesus).
The Civil Rights Movement brought about change, but
it didn’t bring about peace for the people. The Black
Panther Party brought about change, but no man obtained
eternal peace (Jesus).
People have chosen the material things of this world
over God. They are willing to do whatever it takes to gain
worldly satisfaction, but what profits a man to gain the
whole world and to lose his soul? How long will man be
ignorant? How long will man fight, march, and protest?
As long as it takes for them to find peace, I suppose, but the
peace is not in the marching nor is it in fighting and
protesting; the peace is in the Lx)rd. It’s time to remove the
shield of this world from your eyes, and realize that the
battle is not yours, but he Lord’s. We war not against flesh
and blood, but principalities and powers, rulers of darkness,
and spiritual wickedness.
Race is not the enemy. Resh is not the enemy. Man is
not the enemy; the enemy is Satan. It is Satan that gives
you the impression that this world is worth dying for. The
world is a tool of Satan that man carnally defends. Man is
willing to lay down his life for something that will perish
(this world), but what good is a dead man, especially if he
dies without peace (Jesus). Sure the world will
acknowledge his accomplishment, but in the eyes of God, if
he died without peace (Jesus) in his life, he died for
nothing.
Peace is what man really wants. However, it can’t be
obtained by fighting, marching, and protesting. Peace is
not something that belongs to one man or one race, but
everyone can have it if they take time out and receive it So
why all the fighting and marching and protesting? The
“Day of Atonement” has already been. The battle is
already won, and the victory is already in your possession.
There is no need to fight and march and protest for
something you already have.
Is the world the only kingdom you know? If so, what
will you do when everything you ever fought for is burned
by fire and brimstone? You take everything in this world
so serious, but you care so little about the one thing that
matters most, your soul. Satan has blocked your mind with
the problems of this world. The goal of Satan is to take
away the one thing that really deserves peace (Jesus), your
soul. So what will you do? Will you continue to engage in
a war that no man can physically prepare for or will you
accept peace (Jesus)? There is peace in Jesus!

Where Is Your Ram Pride?
Do you have Ram Pride? Pride
in your school? Pride in your
athletic teams? Pride in your
major? Self pride?
This year I realized that lack of
pride, apathy and diminishing
school spirit are prevalent on our
campus!
At the Rams vs. Eagles
football game earlier this month, I
compared how much spirit the
WSSU students possessed to how
much spirit the WSSU alunmi and
community fans possess. Our
players were out on the field playing
their hearts out and some of the
student fans had other agendas.
This was very obvious after
halftime! The alumni and
community fans stayed 'pumped,'
while the students began to lose
interest in the game.
"It seems like people used the
game to show off their fashions or a
social gathering instead of an
athletic event," said Arienne Giles, a
1997 WSSU graduate. "How can
we expect our guys to prosper
without the fan support?"
Believe it or not, WSSU
student athletes are concerned about
the finicky support received from
fellow Rams.
"Whenever we win, everybody
is buddy, buddy; but when we lose,
they always try to downgrade you,"
said Eric Hendley, a junior
sociology major and Ram football
running back. "What we really
need is fan support, regardless if we
win or lose."
Lack of fan support is
something members of the band also
notice!
"It really makes me mad when
the fans have the nerve to cheer on
the opposite team's band and then
they don't give us the same
response," said Andrianne Brown, a
junior accounting major and
member of "Silky Smooth," the flag
team.
If you came to WSSU just for
sports and 'gym jams' then you are
not utilizing the full potential this
campus has to offer. While we are
here as students, we should support
all of our athletic teams, win, lose or
draw. We should represent by
wearing WSSU paraphernalia,
supporting campus representatives,
(ie. SGA officers. Miss WSSU, Mr.
Ram and other student leaders) and
just be proud to be a RAM!
Everyday these students are
attempting to represent YOU , the
student body. Why not try and give
something back to WSSU. If you
are a true Ram, you'll be one until
you DIE!
