Howard U. Job Fair The Winston-Salem Stale University Mass Communications club is planning their second trip to Howard University's School of Communications job fair in Washington, D.C. The job fair takes place Oct. 22- 23 on the HU campus and gives communications majors from around the country the chance to interview and network to find potential internships and jobs. There is an application process. Students are asked to send copies of their resume if they are interested in getting interviews with the media corporations that will be at the job (air. Students are given the opportunity to interview with newspapers, magazines, record and television companies, including The Richmond-Times Dispatch, CNN, ABC and ESPN. The anticipation is that more companies will appear for this year's job fair in wider ranges of communications. Although the deadline for return information was Sept. 25, students who are interested in attending may still send information to the university. Newspaper Announces internships The Sacraiiieiilo Bee, a 28(),()()()-plus circulation newspaper ItK'aletl in California's capital city, offers simimer internships in reptirting, sports, copy editing, photo journalism and graphic arts. The internships will be full-time for 12 weeks and pay $425 a week. Interns are responsible for their own housing. Reporting interns will do rotations in metro, business, and features. Sports interns will spend time writing as well as working on the sports copy desk. Copy editing, pht)to and graphics interns will assume regular shifts in their departments. Applicants must be working toward a college degree or be recent college graduates.
