LADY RAMS, from page 11 The lone first-half bright spot was a 5-0 WSSU run that cut a 15-point deficit to nine points with 6:29 remaining in the first period of play as the Lady Rams appeared to get going offensively. However, appearances proved to be deceiving as ECSU rattled off one of their pair of 7-0 runs to increase their lead to double-dig its, where it would stay for the remainder of the contest, eventually taking a 22-point lead into the locker room at halftime, leading 50-28. The second half of play finally provided Ram fans with something to get excited about as WSSU held the Lady Vikings without a field goal for almost five minutes (11:43 remaining until 6:52 remaining) as they steadily chipped away at the ECSU lead, trimming it back to as little as 14 points. However, it proved to be too-little, too-late as 2004 CIAA All-Rookie team selection Deanna Price (Fr./G/Washington, DC) sealed the victo ry with a carcer-performance as she registered a triple-double, scoring 11 points, pulling down 13 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists. Price was not without help as three of five Lady Viking starters would score in double digits in the victory. Leading the way for the Lady Rams was 2004 CIAA Rookie of the Year Shalonda Carter (Fr./F/Fayetteville, NC) who tallied her 10th double-double of the season turning in 11 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort. The Lady Rams finish the season at 12-14 overall while ECSU improves to .500 at 13-13 overall and advances to the second round of the CIAA Tournament for the first time since the 2002 season where they will face their for mer head coach Vanessa Taylor and the Lady Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 1 pm. IIaroi.d L. Martin. Sr. Cii.\nc:ki.i.ok Dear Winston-Salem State University Student: I need your help! We are asking WSSU student to participate in an important study about the residential facilities and services at our university. Your participation is vital to the success of our efforts to improve and expand the university’s housing facilities and in part the Winston- Salem State University “college experience.” We are currently in the process of developing a comprehensive plan to meet the growing demand for campus housing and improve the quality of the housing that we already have. As part of this endeavor, we are determining the demand for various types of additional housing facilities. We want to be sure that we have as much direct student input as possible. I know that you are busy, but I am asking you to take about 8 minutes of your time to complete the internet survey at http://www.facilitvulanners.com/survev/vvssu/housing. The survey will be open from Tuesday, March 16, 2004, through midnight Tuesday, March 23, 2004. I believe that this modest investment of your time now will pay off with long term benefits for all students in expanded on-campus housing that reflects what students think is important. Please answer each question to the best of your knowledge so that the information most accurately represents your own actual experience and opinions. Since we need input from everybody, please complete the survey even if you live or plan to live off-campus. **As an added incentive for completing the survey, we will hold a drawing for one of three cash prizes: 1) $150, 2) $100, and 3) $50. By entering your student ID number at the end of the survey, you will automatically be entered to win. Your student ID will only be used to identify a winner and you 'will be notified the first week in April. Your responses and ID are absolutely anonymous. Over the following months, we will keep you informed of our progress. Thank you for your participation. Sincerely, Harold L.
