WSSU’s Women of spring
At Winston-Salem State, basketball and football
get lots of attention. But spring is here, and so is
the WSSU women’s softball team.
With only a quarter of the season gone as of
March 26, the Rams already had racked up a record
of 11 -9, with one conference win. The Rams will
take on the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats on April 12
at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The team boasts three recipients of the WSSU
Crown Trophy Female Players of the Week: freshman
Bonika Terry and juniors Amber Shore and Whitney
Wright. Ten players are returning from last year’s
roster, and the team has seven new players.
