Volume 15 Number 6 Chowan College, Murfreesboro, North Carolina 27855 April 6, 1984 Saluting Spring Festival 1984 Candidates [I I Kay Dixon * Julie Ward Julie Harriz Spring Festival Schedule Set Spring Festival is one week away! liiis annual event at Chowan College will provide fun, entertainment, and pageantry for the college community. Events will center on Squirrel Park on Friday afternoon with Anything Goes, bands, and various activities. Dinner on the grounds will consist of a pizza party. An Air Band contest will be held. The movie “Can You See What I Hear” will be shown Friday night in Turner Auditorium. Saturday provides a full day of fun and excitement. Photography and art exhibits are scheduled. These are coordinated by the Art Department and the School of Graphic Communications. As was the case on Friday, activity will center on Squirrel Park Saturday morning for a campus carnival spon sored by S.G.A. Campus clubs and organizations will sponsor booths. Following lunch in Thomas Cafeteria, a concert is scheduled in Turner Auditorium under the direction of the Music Department. An ice cream party is scheduled also in mid-afternoon for Squirrel Park. The feature event of the afternoon will be the coronation of the Spring Festival Queen and Princess. This is the culmination of several weeks of interviews and talent presentations for Chowan coeds. In the running for Princess are Chrissy Noe, Stephanie Hardy, Jenny Burgess, and Terri Douberly. Sophomore candidates for Queen are Julie Harriz, Kay Dixon, Laura Crum, and Julie Ward. Chowan President Dr. Bruce E. Whitaker will crown the Queen and Princess. A banquet honoring the Spring Festival Court, their escorts, their parents, and special guests will be held in the President’s Dining.Rpom. A dance with “Redy-Mix” will close out the evening in the student center. The semi-formal affair traditionally is a big success. Laura Crum Jennie Burgess ? ? 9 ?
