II. THE POmiRS AND DUTIES OF TEE EDITOR
A. The editor should be assigned to the work-study program for scholarship
when elligible or should be granted a scholarship by the Student Activi
ties Department if he is not elligible for work-study.
B. The editor of the newspaper should serve only one year, and should be
given his academic credits for that year without attending academic
classes. This should be his Junior year of college if at all poj^sible.
C. The editor should have faculty privileges for the use of materials in the
library.
D. The Editor should attend meetings of the Board of Trustees/Student Affairs
Committee.
E. The Editor should be Included in the School Senate which has been proposed
by the President.
F. The editor should be given a two-room apartment in the West Dorm (which might
well be vacant next year) In order to have adequate space to work and as
compensation for the job.
G. The editor is totally responsible for the weekly publishing of the news
paper.
H. The editor shall oversee the coverage of the paper and shall constantly
search for material of Interest to the students and rel&ted to the
Issues in the Essay.
I. The editor should always revise and solidity the Editorial Policy
and should attempt to meet the standards set by the Advisory Board and
the presidents of the past years of the Essay.
III. The PROCESS OF SELECTING TEE EDITOR.
A.
Applications for the Editorship shall be made available to all students in
the first week of April.
B. Applications will be screened by a sub-committee of the Advisory Board
Consisting of the Editor, the Advisor, and the Academic Dean.
