October 28, 1966 The N.C. Essay Page 4 Mi jSir ASSOCIATION The North Carolina Music Teachers Association will meet this weekend at Salem College. Several members of the NCSA fa culty will participate in the program. Dr. Herbert Horn, NCSA faculty, will preside at a piano session at 2 p.m., Sat urday. Raul Spivak, N.C. State University at Raleigh, will speak on "Latin-American Piano Music." At 3;15 p.m., Rudolph Kremer, Univer sity of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will preside at the Organ Section. At the banquet on Saturday evening;^ Dr. Giannini will speak on "The North Caro lina School of the Arts." SATURDAY EVENING RECITAL Immediately following the banquet will be a recital in Hanes Auditorium. J. Massie Johnson, NCSA Professor of Percussion and Music History, his wife Carol, who works in the NCSA library, along with John Muller and Dorethy Celesta will perform Pinkham*s "Concertante". Also on the program will be the Bach "Prelude and Fugue in C Major" for organ, and Brahms' "Trio in B Major." Salem College Choral Ensemble under the direction of Paul Peterson will also perform. Sunday morning from 9 - 10:30 a.m. Clemens Sandresky will preside at a special session entitled "The Listening Experience." From 3-4 p.m. James Cobb will preside at the voice session. "Moravian Vocal Music" will be discussed by Ewald Nqlte. James Cobb will discuss "Contemporary Vocal Works for Small Ensembles." The String Session will be held from 4:15 to 5:15 with Willis Gates, Methodist College, presiding. The University Trio of the University of North Carolina at Greens boro will discuss "Problems and Techniques Relating to Piano Trio Performance." SUNDAY EVENING RECITAL Olegna Fuschi, NCSA piano instructor, will perform in recital Sunday evening at 8:15 p.m. in the Hanes Auditorium. Her program Includes Two Sonatas, Scarlatti; Fantasy in C Major, Op. 17, Schumann; Sonata in A Minor, Prokofieff; Ballade in F Minor, OP. 52, Chopin; Berceuse, Op. 57, Chopin; Two Etudes, Chopin; and Variations on a theme by Paganini, Brahms.
