MADUB3A INSTRUCIS
Gonzalo Madurga, actor and noted artist from
New York, recently completed instructing students
of the Drama Department in the art of theatrical
makeup. The training was intensive for two weeks
during Madurga's visit here, and the students
learned much about corrective and character
makeup»
" It's more than painting a face, " commented
Madurga. " One must think in terms of charact
erization as well as visual effect. If an actor
cannot create in his face the same character he
portrays with his mind and body, his work will
be out of jointo"
Madurga, besides professional makeup work,
has recently done several plays with the New York
Shakespeare Festival and the Morris Repertory
Theater in Morristown, N.J. He has appeared on such
television programs as Theatre '62, DuPont Show
