AT YOU AR
In an era when young people are welcomed into the adult realm at an increasingly early
age, the categorized teenager develops a self- confidence enveloped in an atmosphere of
ultimate security. These positive qualities are beneficial both for the young person and for
the society to which he contributes, but they can cause problems if they are not controlled
with an adult mind.
The flip, nonchalant, or impolite teenager wins the disapproval not only of his teachers,
who compose the majority of his contacts with the adult world, but also of his peers. Fellow student
do not condone immature behavior in a classroom any more than at a concert. The label, " cool and
casual " is not obtained by foolishness or by misguided exhibitionism on either the social or the
The elements of good conduct derive from a real understanding and respect for fellow
humanity. The code, derived from this understanding and respect is universal, and deviations
from it are a reflection of basic inhumanity. You are what you act.

DEAN MERITS NOTE
Dr. Osvaldo Riofrancos, Dean of the Drama
Department at NCSA, is also a director for
Joseph Papp's Shakespeare In Central Park.
He directed " Macbeth ” for the festival last
summer. In reviewing the production, the
New York Times said:
" Mr. Riofrancos gave the play a
crisp and constant style that found favor
with an audience of some 2,000 persons...

One of the witches was Miss Ann
Collins, who is teaching speech at the
School of the Arts. She will play the role
of Marguerite Gautier ■•in " Camino Real ".
Dr. Riofrancos has directed a number
of.plays since he came to New York from
Buenos Aires in 1958• He directed " Romeo and
Juliet " for Papp's festival in 1965. He directed
" An Evening with Garcia Lorca " for an off
Broadway production and "Lorezaccio ",
by Alfred de Musset and "The Firebrand ",
by E.J. Mayer, both for Equity Theatre. He
has been associated with the New' York
University, City College and the Academy
of Dramatic Art.
Dr. Riofrancos received his doctor
ate from the University of Buenos Aires
and founded his own School of Actors in
Buenos Aires. He is a member of the Society
of Stage Directors and Choreographers and
