April 14. 1969 Drama To Presen by Dccord Wood The N.C. Essay Michel de Ghelderode*s one-act E&curlal will be presented soon by members of the Drama Dept, in con nection with PUMP week. The produc tion is an independent one, produced entirely by students. The play is based primarily a- round two characters, a king, and Folial, the jester. The play was undertaken through a suggestion by Keith Gates of the music department. Keith has written an opera based on Escurial and suggested that it would be a fantastic play to present at N.C.S.A. The cast includes Larry Marshall as the Executioner, Sam Barcelona as the Monk, Jess Haynes as Folial, the jester, and David Wood as the King. The production has been quite an experience as well as an experi ment. THERE IS NO DIRECTOR. The actors are directing themselves, sharing ideas and suggestions. The results are quite amazing as those Departmen t t Escurial who have seen rehearsals will tell you. Escurial*s performance dates will be announced soon. It will be open to the school.
