NORMAN FARROW RESIGNS
Norman Farrow, voice teacher
at the North Carolina School of the
Arts, has resigned to accept a new
post as artist teacher. Professor
of Music and Chairman of the Voice
Division at the University of North
Carolina in Greensboro. The an
nouncement was made today by Robert
Ward, President of the School of the
Arts.
"UNC-G’s gain Is our very great
loss, in this instance,” said Ward
in speaking of the resignation.
"Norman Farrow has made a tre
mendous contribution to the begin
nings of the School of the Arts,
That he has chosen to remain in the/ _)
Piedmont is the great good fortun^,'^
of the entire state.

in their new association.”
Farrow came to the School of
the Arts at the invitation ef the
late Dr. Vittorio Giiaanlni, tirst
president ' of the school. He has
taught here since the school opened
in the fall of 19^.

Farrow said:
"When Dr. Giannini asked me to
join his new faculty at the North
Carolina School of the Arts,,dt was
too fascinating a tdiallenge. to re
sist, and these have been # most re
warding four years.
"I am very fond of my students
here and tremendously proud of them.
The level of talent and dedication
has been extremely high, and I am
confident that many of them have
fine performing careers. I hope
that these standards will main
tained and that the school will pro
gress in the directions for which it
was established.
