For all you avid sports fans with the
competitive spirit, we have a few
exciting tournaments coming your way
this term. To begin with, February 22-25,
we have the “two»n-two” basketball
tournament. Just pick the partner you
want to play with and sign yourselves up
at Mrs. Dahmers desk. Then show up at
7:30 a.m. on February 22, at the school
gym where rules will be explained and
pairs will be matched up.
The tournament will be single
elimination, half court, with each tpam
having to score 40 points to win. Each
team must win bv a margin of four or
more points; otherwise the game goes
mto overtime. The two teams reaching
the finals will play a best two out of three
games for the championship and the $10
prize to be split evenly between the two
winners. There will be referees and
statistics on rebounds, points, and assists
will be kept.
The ping-pong tournament is scheduled
to take place at some time in March.
Depending on how much support we get
from students foosball and airhockey
tournaments will be taken into
consideration. Mrs. Dahmer will be open
for any suggestions anishe will have a*
paper where you can sign your name
under the game in which you would like
to participate in a tournament, be it
airhockey, foosball or ping-pong.
A pool tournament has been scheduled
for mid-April. Derails will come later.
A spades tournament will take place
February 15 and 16, Saturday and
Sunday afternoons. A registration of
$1.00 will be required of each team
playing. Sign up in Dave Belnap’s office.
The tournament will be ■ a double
elimination, with winners and losers
brackets. Referees will be present. You
will receive a copy of regulations when,
you register. The registration fees will be;
used as first nrize.
