How long have you held this position at Methodist College? Since November, 1998. Why did you decide upon the fiel that you are in? Chance. What are three words that best de scribe yourself? Easygoing, fun-loving, hard-working. What is your biggest pet peeve in life? People who think you are inconve niencing them by making them do their job. What is your favorite movie? Dirty Dancing. What brought you to this area if it is not your hometown? I was stationed at Ft. Bragg when I was discharged from the Army in 1989. How long have you held this position at Methodist College? Since August 1998. Why did you decide upon the field that you are in? I didn’t; I’m still not sure what I want to be when I grow up. What are three words that best de scribe yourself? Tenacious, creative, re sourceful. What is your biggest pet peeve in life? People who don’t fullfil their obliga tions. People, particularly in organizations, tend to take on tasks or responsibilities that they never follow through with. What is your biggest pet peeve about Methodist College students? State - Ed.D. work - education. Hometown? Fort Defiance, VA - It’s an attitude as well as a place. What brought you to this area if it is not your hometown? My ex-wife was ac tive duty military with division. How long have you been teaching at Methodist College? Six years. Why did you decide upon the field that you are in? It necessarily encom passes and dictates how we understand and share for good or ill all other fields of en deavor. What are three words that best de scribe yourself? Passionate, dedicated, curious. What is your biggest pet peeve in /nR hlwhrevs life? Lack of personal responsibility/ ac countability for travails of the individual. What is your biggest pet peeve about Methodist College students? Insufficient motivation/ creativity in areas other than complaining and duty avoidance—where heir creativity knows no bounds. What is your favorite movie? Cassablanca or The Man Who Would Be King—in both the good guys lose in the end—an important lesson for our corporal existence. What is your favorite book? The Holy Bible. What is your favorite restaurant? Tavern on the Green in New York City and the Whaling Station in Monterey. CA. What is your favorite food? MEAT - A dedicated carnivore pleased with our po sition on the food chain. What is your favorite television show? Not shows - channels. A male with a remote seldom limits himself to one show. C-SPAN. Fox News, MSNBC, History— for an occasional laugh at surrealistic spin—the Clinton Nuances Network (CNN). What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Hunting, fishing, farming, re search. Family members? No immediate in area—multitudes dispersed through the hills of Virginia—(some even wear shoes now). Pets? My travel schedule and bachelor hood does not allow it, but I grew up on a farm and love animals—especially puppies. If you could write your own epitaph what would it say? Finally, on to a better place—God’s will. If you could be anyone else, who would you want to be and why? I’ll stick with being me—warts and all. What is your favorite movie? Don’t have one. What is your favorite book? Adas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. What is your favorite restaurant? Sonic Drive-In. What is your favorite food? Choco late. What is your favorite television show? I like The X-Files, Law & Order, and Star Trek Voyager, but I spend between two and four hours a day watching pro grams on The Learning Channel, Discov ery, A & E, and The History Channel. (As I am writing this, I am watching a TLC pro gram called The Microchip.) What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Watching educational pro grams. Creating new art pieces. Creating images in Adobe PhotoShop....I also par ticularly enjoy strangling the editors of the Carillon and the Pride. Family members? Husband, Joseph Mullen. Pets?
