Left: Students pile into the bowling alley for free food and bowling for dollars. It w as 10 p.m. last Wednesday, and there I was walking toward the huge crowd of Methodist College students waiting in line at the Northview Lanes for the big event. As soon as you walk in you hear the music playing and you see everyone looking forward to bowling. MC LateNight “Bowling for Dollars” is held once a semester for Methodist College students. Dean of Students, George Blanc, says “It is the best attended event all year long.” There is free food, good music, and of course “Bowling for Dollars.” As indicated by Wendy Edwards, the owner of Northview Lanes, “Bowling for Dollars’’ is when you receive a dollar certificate for every strike you make with the red pin in front of all the other regular pins.” Getting paid to bowl was another reason to attend this event. According to the Student Activities Council Director, Charles Amerson, the turn out is about the same as last semester, which was close to 400 to 500 students. It was quite obvious the event’s turn out went really well, and most students had a good time. Getting involved in such student activities influences the full college experience Methodist has to offer, so get out there and have fun. Student PoH: How was Bowling night for you? “I like being around the crowd and the music.” Patrick Doleman, Freshman It s really fun having everyone come out together for a school activity.” Tomeka Everette, Freshman I think it’s a fantastic idea, it draws so many of the students to come out.” Ryan O’Neil, Sophomore wH “It would be better to have it at a bigger place because there aren’t enough lanes here.” Jena Mamon, Sophomore
