Among tlie highlights in club and
camj)us activities since the last "is
sue of The Pkn are the following
events.
Among the visiting guests and as
sembly speakers was Mr. Gardner,
a native of Africa, who was educat
ed in England and is now touring
America and making a study of its
educational system.
The Chancellors Club presented
Dr. Ivan E. Taylor, head of the
English Dei)artment, as its main
speaker at a recent program and
forum. The subject of Dr. Taylor’s
address was, “The Negro In the
Post-War Period.” This program,
which was dedicated to the com
memoration of Pearl Harbor Day,
also received a few remarks by the
organizer of the Chancellors Club
and an honorary poem written by
one of the present members.
In keeping with the Civilian De
fense program that already exists
on our campus, the Zeta Sigma Rho
Society initiated a war stamp drive.
Stamps are available to all persons
each Saturday morning at the War
Stamp booth in the Library. The
Zetas were also the sponsor of the
annual Thanksgiving program. The
theme of the program was Thanks
giving Day in War Times. Another
program under the sponsorship of
the Zetas was the review of Adolph
Hitler’s “Mein Kampf,” by Pro
fessor Lloyd L. Woods,
