(Previous first-prize winners are eligible only for special awards.) DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES FEB. 26, 1965 Students may submit an unlimited number of entries in any or all categories provided each entry complies with the following rules: 1) An original work never before published except in a college paper and not submitted to any other national contest. 2) Essays not exceeding 3,000 words; Short Stories not exceeding 4,000 words; Poetry not exceeding 60 lines, in any verse form. 3) All entries typewritten —double spaced. 4) All entries submitted through the Chairman of the English Department. The option to publish any of the material resides with Reader*s Digest and the United Negro College Fund, However, the winning of an award is not in itself a guar~ antee of publication. All -material will be subject finally to normal editorial criteria. Do not send entries to the United Negro College Fund or the Reader^s Digest.
