The Falcons had five players in double figures, Gary Taylor led with 22 points while John Bailey had 21 points and 12 re bounds. Warren Brown added 17 points, Reginald McFarland 14 points, and Donald Carroll 12 points. NC Central’s Don Sinclair led all scores with 29 points, in the second half. John Bishop added 26 points. Though the Falcons played without All-American Anthony Boggan, who was injured in a game against Fayetteville State, this in no way affected the Falcon’s style of play. They were to run and work the ball around for the better shots. This they (Falcons) did accomplish, leading by a score of 53-34 at half time. The Falcon’s biggest lead of 22 points came after a basket by War ren Brown with 15:30 left on the clock. The Falcons held this lead un til the Eagles went into a zone press at 7:41 left to play, enabling the Eagles to make two back to back steals and scoring both baskets decreasing the margin to 86-72. The Eagles now had the momen tum for a final comeback surge, but that was ended on a fastbreak stuff by Warren at 4:10 which made the score 90-72. However, the Eagles did manage to come within 12 points %-84. But not enough to overcome the Falcons. The Falcons are now 6-3 in the CIAA conference, and 9-5 overall. Colbert and Walsh Team at Tennis Match By Vinecia Bunch On Saturday December 5, Royal Colbert, a junior at the “Aug” and Tim Walsh, a North Carolina State student teamed up as tennis partners at the Millbrook court. The two man team had not played tennis for over two months. The team lost the first set of the game. However, in the second set the team of Colbert and Walsh func tioned well. They came back to take the second set from the two oppos ing team players. Six to four; this did give the team some com- petiveness. After the two opposing pros were downed in the second set they rallied to come*back and win the third and final set. Due to a lack of practice Colbert and Walsh were good sore losers. However, their goal is to win the next time around! Sophomores, ft’s still not too late to tsdtie ROFC.
