the Baccalaureate service.
“There are three things about St. Augustine’s
which particularly impress me,” said Rev. John
II. Johnson, vicar of St. ilartin’s Church, New
York, who was the baccalaureate preacher at the
local college’s commencement exercises. “First,
the growth in size and beauty of the plant. Nino
years ago when I was last here it was not nearly
so impressive. Another thing is the quality of
the student body. It impresses me as being alert,
responsive, and unusually courteous. Finally, the
air of harmony among the members of the staff,
both white and colored, is something I had heard
of but never seen.”—From the Raleigh Xews and
Ohserrer.
