ALUMNI NEWS Kev. Hravid W. Harris. ’IT, was guest preacher on May nth, iit the conclusion of ‘‘St. Augustine's Week”, a week devoted to fostering interest in the past and the future of our institution. A few days later it was announced that the Kev. Jlr. Harris had been designated Archdeacon for Work Among Colored People of the Diwese of Southern Virginia. In the graduating class of this year at the Bishop Payne Divinity School were William Turner. ■;u, and Bartlett Cochran, who was graduated frtmi the Academic Department in li)2S. Kev. Dlo.vd M. Alexander, was ordained to tlie priest hood, in St. Janies' Church, Portsmouth, Va.. May 21st, i>y Bishop Thomson, of the Diocese of Southern Virginia. The Kev. Mr. Alexander has been serving on the staff of the Bishop Payne Divinity School. St. Augustine’s was repre sented at the ordination by Archdeacon Harris. The annual meeting of the xVluinni Associatl(m of St. Augustine’s College was held during Conimeneenient Week in the Cheshire Building. At the annual Alumni Baiupiet addresses were delivered by Dr. W. A. Battle of the Ameri can ('hurch Institute for Negroes: K(>v. F. Kicksford Jleyers ’21, St. Duke’s ('hapel. (Joold, President St. Augustine’s ('ollege. The business session of the Association was marked by the determination of the Alumni to boost the Alumni Scholar ship I und during the coming year, and a coinnilttee to recommend to the next session of the Association a method of operating the Alumni Scholarship Fund. The Association submitted the names of Dr. E. E. Black man, Kev. Jas. K. Satterwhite, and Kev. John W. Herritage D.I>„ nominees to the Board of Trustees of the College for their selection of one alumni representative for the Board. The trustees elected to membership Dr. E. E.
