April 20. 1Q61 NORTH CAROLINA wESLEYAN Page 3 ^ iiU M M c,";) LJ Fi An Athletic Committee, made up of Coach Moe Bauer, Bob Gay, John Alden, Bobby Green, and Brenda Rose, had their first meeting yes terday at noon. Their main objeo- tive at present is to arouse spir it for the ball games. Announce ments will be made over the pub lic address system; speeches will be made in assembly; posters will be drawn; and mimeographed notes will be distributed to the stu dent body. An Orientation Committee has also been appointed. Their first meeting will be April 26. Those on this committee are Kiss Lois Collins, Rev. Marshall Pridgen, Faye Simpson, Joan Lamberth, Larry Matthews, and Ervin Cullipher. J iVeLl While the workmen outdoors have been busy completing the dorms and Student Union building for next fall and the Admissions Off ice is working towards the new Freshman Class, the President and Dean have been making additions to the Wesleyan College faculty for_ next year. At present four additions are positive. James R. Hailey, a native of Spray, and a candidate for his Ph.D. at Duke University, will serve as assistant professor of Religion next year, Mr. Hailey is a Methodist and his hobbies are fishing,hunting, and watchmaking. Serving as assistant professor of Economics will be Steven J. Hunter, who is a native of Molod- echno, Poland, came to the U S after World War II. At present he is a candidate for the Ph.D. degree at the University of Virg inia. Mr. Hunter is an Episcopal ian . John 1/V. Kilgore, who will serve as assistant professor of Chem istry, received his A. B. at Ham- pden-Sidney, his M.A. at Duke, and is a candidate for the Ph.D. de gree at Duke. Joining the faculty later in the year will be Miss Herta V/oll- schieber, a native of Graz, Aus tria.' She -r^jcoivdd hc;r at the University of Graz, came to the United States and received a degree from Duke University and returned to the University of Graz for her Ph.D. degree.
