Gene Featherstone, pianist and
faculty member at Atlantic Christ
ian College in Wilson, will be
featured in a concert Monday eveh-
ing, April 21^ at 3:15 in the Col
lege Chapel. His program will in
clude works by Mozart, Beethoven,
Chopin, Prokofiev, and Debussy.
The seventh concert in a series
sponsored by Wesleyan College and
the Rocky Mount Arts Center took
place April 11 in the Chapel at
the college. It featured the lo
cal debut of two well-known musi
cians from the University ofNorth
Carolina, Rebecca Carnes, sopranq
and Wilton Mason, pianist. They
presented a program of art songs,
aias, lieder, and folk songs.
The eig|ith concert in the col
lege series will be a faculty re
cital which v;ill feature Dr. and
Mrs. William Sasser in a program
of music written for two ' manos.
This concert will take place on
Tuesday, May 2, in the college
Chapel.

Improvements and additions are
visible everywhere on the college
campus. The Bishops now have
their own baseball field which is
used for practice this year and
will be used next year for their
home games. The tennis and bas
ketball courts are now completed
and are being used by the Physi
cal Education classes. Could it
be that the ten foot fence was
put up around the courts to save
:‘unning after stray balls?
Doug Hedgpeth won the singles
ping-pong tournament by defeating
Wayne Cooper in the finals. His
trophy will be presented at the
assembly after the completion of
the doubles tournament. In the
winners’ bracket in the doubles
tournament the team of Gay and
Bauer has secured the lead. In
the losers' bracket the team of
Bailey and Hamad is waiting for
the outcome of the match between
the teams of Eilers and Hedgpeth
against Miller and Wheeler.
Coach Raymond Bauer is start
ing a singles tennis tournament.
Play will be open to anyone in
the staff, faculty, or student
body. Anyone interested is asked
to please sign the sheet on the
bulletin board by Friday, April
21, as play will begin Monday,
April 24.

Bauer and the Wesleyan Bishops to
be their guests at the May 2 meet
ing. The meeting is to be held
at Josh Bullock’s where a Barbe
cue Supper will be served. Coach
Bauer is to be the guest speaker.
The boys' and girls' basketball
teams, cheerleaders, and the boya’
baseball team of West Edgecombe
High School will attend the meet
ing also.
