How ever, he was at bat only 9 times with 3 hits. He was closely fol lowed by .such sluggers as Bob Roop, with a .321 and Dave Reeves with an even .300. Roop and Reeves were also the only two players on the Weisleyan team to get home runs this year. Dave Reeves led the team in runs batted in having 10, twice as much as the next man with 5. This was Ronnie Ragsdale who had 6 hits for 20 times at bat for a .286 batting average. This batting average was dupli cated by John Edgerton who also had a .286 but played about half the season due to iUness. Closing out the .200’s were Seybert with a .256, Lancaster with a .250 and Cherry with an even .200. Nelson who batted .172 was followed by Delaney and Brockenbrough, who both batted .143. The line-up finished up with two .133’IS by Moore and Robinison and with Schultz, Rexroad and Everett with a .116, .091 and a .087, respective ly. NAME — ADDRESS Baseball In 1965 By STEVE HALL Dr. Bauer was interviewed recentiy and aisked to give his views on the baseball team for the 1965 season and also to summarize this year’s team. Dr. Bauer said that our great est weakness was defense. This wais due basically to inexperi ence. Ernors hurt us consider ably, continued Dr. Bauer, and we gave up more than 2% runs per game because of our errors. The well-Uked coach continu ed by saying that our team played very well accordingly and that we had some close games which shows that we do have gotod potential. He closed this year’s season by saying that he wished the team could have won more games, as everyone else does, but the team showed up real weU and that he was very pleased with its performance. Turning to next year’s team. Dr. Bauer said that the big hittens such ais Roop, Reeves and Seybert, would be good potential for next year’s sea son. He explained that experi ence was a necessary factor in making a good team and that this season gave us such WRA Elects New Officers The recently formed Woman’s Recreation Association met and held its election of officers for the coming school year 1964- 1965. The officers who were elected are as follows: Robin Lunn, president; Rita Aber nathy, vice president; Jane Floyd, secretary-'treasurer; and Dodie Waterts, publicity chair man. The club was organized this year under the direction of Mrs. Edge who has been at Wesleyan for two years serving in the position as Physical Edu cation Director for women. valuable experience. He went on to say that there were sev eral games that we lost by only a slim margin and only because of errors. This is where im provement can be made by next year and it should give us higher hopes of victory in the future. Dr. Bauer closed by asking the students for more support in 1965.
