Function (1) To hear appeals from the Residence Hall . Councils, the Men’s Inter-Residence Hall Council, or the Women’s Inter- Residence Hall Council, (2) To have original juris diction in cases involving both male and female residents, B. Composition (1) The members of both the • men’s and the women’s Inter- Residence Hall Councils (2) The Dean of students or his appointed representative^ who shall have no vote. (3) A chairman shall be elec ted from and by the student mem bers of the Council. Amendment 9 To delete Section 4 of Arti cle IX and substitute in its place; 4. There shall be a Residence Hall Council for each residence hall on campus, whose purpose shall be to maintain order and to enforce the Campus Code In the residence halls. The form Of the councils shall be: a. upperclass Men’s Residence Hall 1. A president, who shall be a senior, elected by the residents of the residence hall 2. Two council members on each floor who must maintain residence on that floor during that term of office, elected by residents of the floor 3. Advisors who shall be the Assistant Resident Counse lors from that residence hall and who shall have no vote. The Council may request the pre sence of the R. H. C. when they deem it necessary. b. Upperclass Women’s Resi dence Hall 1. A president, who shall be a senior, elected by the resi dents of the residence hall 2 Two council members on each floor, who must maintain residence on that floor during that term of office, elected by the residents of the floor a) On the first floor, one counselor must come from the right side and one from the left side of the Residence Hall lounge b) On the second and third floor, the council member may come from the floor at large. 3. Men’s Inter-Resldence Hall Council. Amendment 13 To add an Article XI which shall read as follows: Article XI. Impeachment 1. The Senate of the Student Government Association shall have the power to Impeach any officer of the SGA 2. Impeachment proceedings shall be as follows: a. Charges may be brought In the Senate for non-perfor mance of duty or mal-practice of student office against any stu dent officer. b. A majority vote of the quorum present shall be neces sary to bring the officer to trial, c. The Senator bringing the charges shall prosecute, and the accused officer may designate any student to act as defense counselor, d. The regular officers of the Senate, or their alternates if 'the officer being tried is an officer in the Senate, shall pre side at the trial. e. The trial will be inclosed session f. A two-thirds vote of the entire Senate shall be necessary to remove the accused from of fice. Amendment 14 To add to Article VIII Section 6 the following: 1. Grievance Committee, and Food Services Committee. By-Laws Amendment 1 To delate Article HI Section 1 (a) and substitute in its place: A. Review, within one week, all legislation passed by the Sen ate of the Student Government Association. New Circle K Members (1. to r.) When the Dean of Stu dents and the Judicial Board are unable to agree on the consti tutionality of a particular piece of legislation, the disputed mat ter shall be referred to the Stu dent Life and Services Com mittee of the faculty, 2. The Dean of Students and the Judicial Board shall be re sponsible for presenting their re spective arguments before the Student Life and Services Com- ■nittee. 3. The Student Life and Ser vices Committee shall have the authority to determine the Issue at hand. Amendment 2 To add a subsection c to Ar ticle VI Section 2 C. The Orientation Committee shall have, during the orienta tion period, the same authority over freshmen as the residence hall councils have over resi dents of the residence hall. Amendment 3 To add a Section 6 to Ar ticle X which shall read as fol lows: 6. Judicial Board a. Nominations will be held on the first Monday following the General SGA elections. b. The election shall be held on the Friday following the day of nominations. The voting pro cedure shall be determined by the Senate. Amendment 4 To change all sentences in Ar ticle X which contain either “the niannerof elections shall be de termined by the Elections Com mittee” or ‘‘the voting procedure shall be determined by the Elec tions Committee” to: The manner of elections shall be determined by the Senate Amendment 5 To add to Article vni Section 3 subsections as follows: d. The Chairman of the com mission shall submit to the Pres ident of the S. G. A. by May 1 of each year the commissions 'recommendations for the editors and business managers of student publications for the following school year. The Senate shall appoint the editors and business managers. e. The commission shall make monthly checks of each pub lications activities. f. The Commission shall have the authority to recommend to the President of the S. G. A. that an editor or business man ager be removed from his posi tion for failure to carry out the responsibilities of his position. The Senate shall have the power of removal. Amendment 6 To add to Article I Section 1 a sub-section to read as follows: d. Shall have access to the entire records and proceedings of all agencies of the Student Gov ernment Association. e. Shall submit to Senate the recommendation of Publications Comm, for editors and business managers for all publications for the following year. (Continued on Page 5) Circle K Inducts New Members On Wednesday night, February 23, the new members were in ducted Into the Circle K. Dr, Thomas Collins was the guest speaker at the induction service held In the private dining area of the cafeteria. After his ad dress, Dr. Collins presented each new member with his Circle K pin. The new members Include Bert Hart, Paul Robinette, Dick Shaff, Jack Winstead, Najman Rozen baum, Danny Lea, John Porter, Ray Martin, Butch Harvey, Jerry WInberry, chic Ball, Buddy Kraft, Mutt Kessel, Jim Polley, Fred Meachem, and Bob Barbln. Singers” The Wesleyan Chamber’Slngers, a newly formed Madrigal group on campus, under the direction of Dr, William Sasser is another Wesleyan first. According to Dr. Sasser, nine students were hand-picked, five of which are voice majors. Be- »cause of the group’s smallness, each student must be able to sing equally well alone or with the group. The Sopranos are Barbara Crawford, Reggie Mc- ’ Kinney, and Margaret Poole, Altos are Marilyn Shepherd and Diane Wood, Doug Groseclose and fed Turner are the tenors while Rick Houck and Vernon Ball are to sing bass. The group is singing selections from the Rennaissance, Madri gals, and Chansons without ac- companyment as well as modern folk songs by Brahms and Von Williams. The Wesleyan Chamber Singers will perform for the school on March 15 in Assembly. The only other scheduled program will be for the meeting of American As sociation of Teachers of French to be held on campus, April 30.
