PAGE THE DECREE MONDAy. OCTOBER 16. 1967 SPORTS ^1^ I PUN FUN o The little league team was lead ing its opponent 2 to 1 in the bottom of the last inning. The team was try ing to protect its lead when the pitch er walked the first batter. The coach quickly called in his ace relief pitch er, a boy by the name of Mill Famey. Mill Famey, though, had found can of beer in the bull pen and had drunk it without the coach knowing it. So he walked the first four men, forcing the winning run. After the game one of the players on the winn ing team saw the empty beer can and asked what it was. A teammate re plied, “Why, don’t you know? That’s the Beer that made Mill Famey Walk Us.” By the way, kids, Mini ha ha is| back! Most of us who condemn im morality are those of us who just never got asked. Anonymous Forest fires bum a hole In your money HELP PREVENT FIRES Hr IN THE SOUTH CREAM OF SOCCER PESSIMISM by Steve Smith The N. C. W. soccer team has shown little of Its pre supposed potential in its first two games, losing their first match to Guilford (2-1) and their more recent loss to Wil mington (4-1), The first game with Guil ford was very close through out the entire contest. Wes leyan captured the lead late in the first half by a free kick booted by Ralph Thomas. But in the second half, Guil ford tied it up and finally won in overtime. The second game with Wil mington was completely domi nated by our foes, with the bewildered Bishop remaining stagnant until the second half. A big “if” in pre-season scouting was the offensive punch of our front line. As to this point it has been almost com pletely stymied, with little alertness shown. It may be a discouraging start, but the potential is still there, so let’s get out there and support the blue and gold. BISHOP'S CROP He who hesitates, wastes time.
