Wilkinson And Shepard Get Leads In ^Forum’ Anthony Dingman recently announced the cast for this spring’s production of Burt She- veloue’s and Larry Gelbart’s “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.” Mu sic and lyrics for this comedy were composed by Stephen Sondheim. Playing Pseudlus will be Dan ny Shephard, a junior theatre major from Vinton, Virginia, Danny has acted in many pre vious Wesleyan productions with his most recent role as “The Common Man” in the fall drama “A Man For All Sea sons.” Sean Moran, a senior thea- tre-English major, will por tray Senex, Sean is from Was hington, D. C. and may be re membered for his portrayal of Thomas Cromwell in “A Man For All Seasons.” The wife of Senex, Domina, will be enacted by Beverly Pet ty of Rocky Mount, N. C. Be verly has appeared in “Man of La Mancha”. “A Man For All Seasons” and most recently in “The Ugly Duckling.” Hero, son to Senex and Do mina will be played by a new comer to the Wesleyan thea-. tre, Scot Wilkinson. Scot was recently in “The Ugly Duck ling” and is a freshman music major from Kitty Hawk, N.C. Jim Keeter will appear as Hysterium. He is a junior theatre major from Morehead City, N. C. and has seen ac tion in both “Man of La Mancha” and “A Man For All Seasons.” Lycus, buyer and seller of cour tesans, will be portrayed by Berl Garrett. Berl, a sopho more from Natalie, Virginia, may be remembered for his performance in “A Man For All Seasons”, as well as, “Thurber Carnival” and “No Strings.” Soldier Miles Glo- riosus is to be played by Russ Shoop from Gasburg, Virginia, He has made appearances in “Man of La Mancha,” and “The Crucible.” Jeannie Johnson, as Philia, is a junior theatre major from Havelock, N, C. Jeannie re cently portrayed Margaret, Sir Thomas More's daughter in “A Man For All Seasons” and has been seen in several pre vious productions. The six courtesans will be played by Carol Roane as Panacea, Lynda Land as Vibrata, Jeannette Klass as Gymnasia, Betty Lee as Tintinabula, and Linda Leo nard and Pat McLean as the Geminae twins. C, TUESDAY, AURCH 9. 1971 Evaluation Forms In; Tabulations Started By BRUCE WRIGHT In accordance with the Sou thern Association’s suggestion that students find some effec tive method of evaluating in struction at Wesleyan, the Se nate, spearheaded by Ed Gunt er, undertook a project direct ed toward this goal. In Jan uary, the Senate established the Subcommittee on Course and Teacher Evaluation. This subcommittee, chaired by Ed Gunter, includes Beth Speake, Doug Kozlowski, Bruce Mill er, Dennis Hayek, Barbara Brown, and Bruce Wright. Af ter studying the methods of eva luation used at various other colleges and universities, this committee decided on the Har vard form. The forms were distributed during the week of February 15, and students were asked to com plete and return the forms by Friday, March 19. The forms were then distributed to the committee members by depart ments and tabulation of the re sults were made during the break. Each committee mem ber was responsible for deter mining the average grade given to each course and each instruc tor, and summarinzingthe com ments and suggestions given in the open-ended section of the evaluation form. Of the 2700 forms that were printed (as suming four or five for each student), approximately 2400 were distributed. Approximately 100 students actively recruited at high schools and churches in their home towns. No accurate figures have been devised yet, concerning the number of con tacts or applicants. Many recruiters were op- Worship Activities Planned By Interfaith The Inter-Faith Commission in conjunction with the Faculty Religious Life Committee plans a series of worship programs for the Wesleyan community on March 9-11. On March 10, the Chamber Singers of N. C. Wesleyan will sing a Folk Mass written for them by Dr. John S. Davis. This folk mass will be presented in Garber Chapel at 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday and on Thursday evening, the Re verend John Orman, of Edenton Street United Methodist Church, Raleigh, will present two of his worship celebrations. These celebrations are modern forms, contemporary forms, of wor ship. Members of the Inter faith Commission have stated that these services are to be at tempts to bring a diversity to the campus religious program. All Services are planned for 7:30 p.m. in Garber Chapel. timistic about their contacts and some reported that they had al ready had their contacts apply here. A number of recruit ers encountered problems in their high schools because of lack of interest among the stu dents. One girl said that her guidance counselor told her that the seniors were disinterested in college recruiters at that point because they had held college day the previous week. Some encountered problems entering the schools because of exam times and other acti vities. Many recruiters spoke to ju niors as well as seniors who expressed interest in advance standing and early acceptance. The steering committee and the admissions office are now compiling figures on the num ber of contacts and applica tions received to determine credit for recruiters. Activists Sponsor Campus Blood Drive The Activists of N. C. This award is given to the one college in the Tidewater area that donates the most student blood to the Red Cross on a percentage basis. Some Wes leyan students have contribut ed in earlier city drives giving Wesleyan a 27 pint head start. On> February 16, the college was informed by the Red Cross that Congress had abolished the requirement that students under 21 must present a parental per mission form. Now any per son that has reached age 18 may donate his blood. The Bloodmobile will be in Everrett Gym on March 10 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Though 80 pints have been pledged by Wesleyan students, there is a need for almost 80 more pints as our quota is 155 pints.
