The casting was per fect Each of the actresses was able to seize the essence of the characters they portrayed. The setting for the musical is a small stage with very simple props. In her duet with the talented Anne Yates (Sister Cardelia), “Just a Coupl’a Sis ters,” and again in her solo num ber, “Holier Than Thou,” she stole the show. Another comedy highlight was Sister Mary Leo played by Tyeshia Barnes. Her portrayal of a young nun who wants to be a ballerina left the audience hys terical. Charlotte Pettitt surprised the audience by taking her beau tiful soprano voice and singing country in “I’ve Could’ve Gone to Nashville.” Carol Gay also gave several great performances throughout the production. How ever, the inadequate sound sys tem took away a small amount from the performances. “Nunsense” receives two “thumbs up” for music and com edy. It is well worth the time and effort to see.
