FEBRUARY 18.1994 — THE DECREE — PAGE 3 Comedian Troy Thirdgill well received by audience By SCOTT ROLFE Comedian Troy Thirdgill re ceived a warm welcome on Feb. 9 as more than 60 students, pro fessors, and staff overflowed the seats in Doc’s. The event was sponsored by Campus Activities Board and Phi Beta Lambda. Wesleyan student Matthew May commented “I enjoyed the show, but it was crowded in Doc’s.” Matt suggested the next time “The SAC may be more comfOTtable.” Troy Thirdgill is a comedian with four years of experience in show business. Thirdgill has made appearances on many premier shows including “Martin,” “In Living Color,” “An Evening at the Improv,” “Comic View,” and many others. Thirdgill is in the process of Renew developing his own show with CBS. Although the show is in the beginning stages Thu-dgill was not able to give many details. He said to look for the show in the near future. ThirdgUl’s source of humor was very fresh, discussing topics such as the Bobbitt and Menendez cases as well as problems in his personal relationships. Other top ics of interest included differences between the South and North, and the club scene. After the show, which lasted about an hour, Thirdgill went out of his way to sign autogr^hs and talk to all the students and faculty fans. There is a space for you on the Campus Activities Board. We can always use help and input in the movie selections and activity selections. Also, it’s a great way to have fun and meet others. Take some time, think about getting in volved in an organization where you can help choose the campus entertainment! For more info, or if you’d like to join the Campus Activities Board (CAB), call Sue at 5227! successful show of the year.” Thirdgill said that he enjoyed performing for Wesleyan but “it was weird performing in a cafete ria.” Troy also said it was hard to be “politically correct” during his act, and sometimes hard to stay clean. Thirdgill was assured that his act was fine, and that Wes leyan students have probably heard worse in the dorms. Before Troy departed he gave some advice for anyone interested in becoming a comedian. Troy . said to “Take any stage time of fered to you,” and that “The one person who stood by him the most was himself.” Troy Thirdgill gave all that at tended a little bit of humor, which is not always available in college life. YO! Dudes and dudettes! This is a list of study rooms set aside for your use. Keep this baby handy! Quiet study areas are enforced for those who can only study in sUence. Please do not use these areas in less you intend to honor the quiet code that is posted inside these rooms.
